Monyash Café – A Sunday Celebration of Everything on Two Wheels
The Old Smithy Café in Monyash has become one of the Peak District’s best-known biker cafés. On occasional Sunday mornings, the village becomes a gathering place for motorcycles, with an eclectic history of two-wheeled machines on display.
Si’s drawing features a scrambler motorbike, the two local monuments, a robin and a discretely hidden Stig — a little nod to the Top Gear character.
It is a beautiful place, but you don’t really need a reason to go. Whichever direction you arrive from, the ride is fabulous, and the café is a great place to stop, soak up the atmosphere and admire the bikes.
Si is a lifelong rider of motorbikes and bacon sandwiches.
