These famous Sheep Dog Trials have been based at Longshaw since 1898!
The BBC started filming on the Longshaw Estate in 1945, entertaining and endearing us with the iconic programme ‘One Man and his Dog’. Alarmingly women weren’t allowed to compete until 1927. A nation of dog lovers, now even more so if that is possible thanks to their endeavours, we will be forever romanced by the Peak District backdrop and the sound of the Shepherd’s iconic commands and whistles.
