The full monty...

1) Froggatt & Curbar (Gold )
The work shows the contours of Froggatt and Curbar Edge with Grindleford up in the top left. The colours as a combination of a strong Black with the underlying texture of emotions and a vibrant Gold for the moments of clarity, positivity and beauty that came from time spent on the Eastern Edges.

2) Stanage Edge (Bronze)
The work shows the contours of the full length of Stanage edge with Hathersage to the bottom left and Stanage Pole to the mid right of the work. The colours are a combination of a strong Black with an underlying texture of a Peak District Hay Meadow that contrasts with a vibrant Bronze to represent the Gritstone, the positivity and uplifting experiences that come from time spent on the Eastern Edges. The work has drawn on the premise that it doesn’t matter how far you travel around the world’s great landscapes, you are always drawn back to the place you ‘feel’ is home. In my case that is Stanage Edge and Hathersage.

3)  Millstone Edge & Surprise View – Hope Valley (Gold)
The work shows the contours between Millstone Edge and Lawrencefield as they overlook Hathersage and down the length of Hope Valley in Derbyshire.
This work comes from the shoulder dropping sense of relaxation that comes with returning to the Peak District as you follow the Fox House road around the tight corner at Surprise View between Millstone Edge and Lawrencefield. Using the wide variety of local wildlife as a backdrop and contrast.
The colours are a combination of a strong Black with the underlying texture of emotions and a vibrant Gold for the moments of clarity, positivity and beauty that came from time spent on the Eastern Edges.
